There isn't a really a "reason" of why it is irrational, it just happens to be like this way, like Euler's constant \(e\approx2.71828183...\)\(π\) is similar to most other mathematical constants, they are so important in geometry (especially trigonometry), that they can't be plain simple integers or decimals.
