confused

a =   the major axis length / 2  =   14/2  =  7.....so....a^2  = 49

c =   the distance from the center to either foci  =  3.....so.....c^2  =  9

b^2  =  a^2  - c^2   =   49  - 9  = 40

So  the equation is

(x + 9)^2             (y - 3)^2

________   +     ________    =       1

      49                     40
