Determine the perimeter of the shape if 1 unit = 1 foot.

A) 8 feet

B) 14 feet

C) 16 feet

D) 20 feet

E) 32 feet

Given that the hypotenuse of this right triangle is 25 cm long and tanΘ = 3.

Find the values of x and y, accurate to the nearest tenth.

A) x ≈ 7.9; y ≈ 23.7

B) x ≈ 23.7; y ≈ 7.9

C) x ≈ 7.9; y ≈ 26.4

D) x ≈ 26.4; y ≈ 79.1

E) x ≈ 79.1; y ≈ 26.4

Which relationship between the legs and the hypotenuse of the right triangle is correct?

A) 15 + 16 = x

B) 15 + x = 16

C) 15^2 + 16^2 = x^2

D) 15^2 + x^2 = 16^2

E) 15 + 16 = x^2

First one  =   16 ft

Second one

If the tan theta  =  3.....then y  =  3x

So...using the Pythagorean Theorem we haxe that

25  =  sqrt  [x^2 + (3x)^2]     square both sides

625  = x^2 + 9x^2

625  =  10x^2

62.5  = x^2      take the positive root

7.9  =  x

And y = 3x  = 3(7.9)  = 23.7

Last one

C) 15^2 + 16^2 = x^2
