Multiply first equation by 24

-48t +6s = 48      add it to the second equation

3t   - 6s = 9       to get

-45t = 57      divide both sides by -45

t = -57/45 = -1  12/45   =  -1 4/15     now substitute this value of t back into one of the two original equations and solve for 's'
