Determine the intervals where the function is:

1. increasing

2. decreasing

3. constant

Also, what are the intervals where the function is:

We  go from left to  right

Increasing  -  intervals  on x where the function "rises"  from left to right  = (-inf, -2) and (3, inf )

Decreasing  - intervals on x  where the function "falls" from left to right  = (1, 3)

Constant  -  intervals where the function neither rises or falls  =  (-2 , 1 )

Thanks! How can we determine the intervals where the function is positive and negative?

Sorry.....forgot to include that...!!!

Positve where the function is above the x axis

This occurs at   (-3.5, 2.5)  and ( ≈3.4, inf )

Negative where it is below the x axis

This occurs at  ( -inf, -3.5)   and (2.5, ≈ 3.4)

Appreciate it!!

I have just one other question on this if it's ok. how can i find the relative maximum and relative minimum of this function?

Relative max  =  3

Relative min =   - 1
