you need to determine if the object has KE or GPE or both. Then find their values.

A 2-kg bowling ball rolls at a speed of 5 m/s on the roof of the building that is 40 tall.

Circle one: KE / GPE / both

Show your work for finding the values of each type of energy the object has:

Would the answer be KE since the ball is moving?

The ball has KE since it is MOVING.

The ball ALSO has GPE since it is 40 m up in the air (see previous posting)

K.E. = 1/2 mv^2  =  1/2  2 kg (5 m/s)^2 =   25  kg-m^2/sec^2 = 25 j
