At Joe's Pizza a 16 inch diameter pizza and a 12-inch-diameter pizza cost the same per square inch of top surface area. If the cost of a large pizza is 9.60, what is the cost, in dollars, of the smaller pizza?

The area of large pizza is 64pi

Area of small is 36pi

ratio- 64:36 or 16:9

9.60/16=0.6

0.6*9=5.4

The small should be $5.40

16 in  diameter   =  8 in radius....area =  64 pi

12 in diameter  = 6 in radius  .....area =   36 pi

So

36 pi /  64 pi   =    C  /  9/60

36  / 64  =   C  / 9.60

9 / 16  = C / 9.60

(9/16) (9.60)  = C  = $5.40 = cost of  smaller  pizza
