In the function f(x), x is replaced with 3x.

f(x)=12sin(x)−4

What effect does this have on the graph of the function?

Can someone help me answer this, but also explain what exactly is being asked and how to answer these kinds of questions in the future?

A. The graph is vertically stretched by a factor of 1/3.

B. The graph is vertically compressed by a factor of 1/3.

C. The graph is horizontally stretched by a factor of 1/3.

D. The graph is horizontally compressed by a factor of 1/3.

In the problem, you have a "3"; in your answers, you have "13".

The graph will be horizontally compressed by the factor.

Check this out by graphing each one.

OOPS! That was my fault. I'm so sorry. I'll correct that.
