according to the World Atlas, the population of New York City in January 2018 was approximately 2.4×10^7 . The population of Mexico City in January 2018 was approximately 2.2×10^7 .

How much greater was the population of New York City than the population of Mexico City in January 2018?

20,000

200,000

2,000,000

20,000,000

The answer is 20,000,000 I believe so but its possible that I could be incorrect but when multiply ing by tens move the decimal point to the right by every zero you see all that is required is to convert these numbers to standard form then subtract them as it turns out it seem to be that new york city had 20,000,000 more in population than mexico city.

 Pop New York -  Pop Mex City  =   (2.4 x 10^7) - (2.2 x 10^7) =

(24,000,000 )  -  (22,000,000) =

2,000,000  more
