Find the equation of the asymptote of the graph of \(r = \cos 2 \theta \sec \theta.\)

I would be good if you give me the answer with the solution becuase ive tried this prob for a while but its just so confusing on the theta part.

The exact answer and the solution would be greatly appreciated!

The derivative of cos(2x)*sec(x) is sec(x) (cos(2x) tan(x) - 2*sin(2x)).  This is 0 when x is a multiple of pi.

Checking the multiples of pi, we see that minimum of the function occurs at x = pi, the minimum value is -1.

So the asymptote is y = -1.

Hmm... I don't think -1 is the right answer, i went and checked the answer on a website, but it was incorrect, but I'm looking at your work and there seems to be no error. Maybe somebody else help?
