2x^2 + 3x - 7 = 0

The first thing I do in these quadratic problems is to see if the quadratic will factor ....(it won't)

We're left with either completing the square (a little difficult), or plugging values into the quadratic formula (easier!!)

Let a = 2 b = 3 and c = -7

Here's the quad formula:

x = (-b + / - SQRT(b^2 - 4ac) / (2a)

So we have x = (-3 + SQRT(9 + 56)) / 4 AND x = (-3 - SQRT(9 + 56)) / 4

I let you evaluate these on your own.
