Ok ok  Rosala's and CPhill's expanation is good but this is how i would have answered this question:

------------------------------------------------

This is a calculator question (just as zegroes said)

Use the calculator on the home page.  Type your question into the input box just as you have typed it here and press return.

You can do this yourself.

Zegroes , i think you should get in the habit of explaining the answer a lil further, giving answers like this will not help you nor the person who wants to know the answer and learn!

so in this 16 is the power of 1.020625 and to get the answer we have to multiply them both so

 (1.020625)^16

=1.3863064162538755   ANSWER

rosala points out that (1.020625)^16  means that we are to multiply 1.020625 by itself 16 times. (Actually, there are only 15 multiplications taking place. To see this, note that 32 means to multiply 3 by itself one time, not twice!! We can think of the exponent as the number of  "1.020625 's" that are to be multiplied together!!)

But zegroes is correct, too.....the calculator makes quick work of this!!!

Points and thumbs up for both answers !!!

Yep...Melody is correct.......we told the person how to build a clock and all they wanted to know is how to tell the time!!!

I'll have to admit it......I'm a little lax on "calculator instruction"

I think we all are correct on our places, all of us told the same answer but just in different ways like some used the shortcut whereas others told "if the shortcut doesnt work , heres the long cut" and nothing else!
