Either we have

[1-(-49) / 81 =

50/81

 

Or we have

1 - (-49/81) =

1 + (49/81) =

[81 + 49] / 81 =

130/ 81

If the problem is:  1 - -49/81, the problem can be simplified because                                                                                                                      subtracting a negative can be replaced by adding a positive:

                           1 + 49/81  =  1 49/81.

 

If the problem is:  (1 - -49) / 81,  then it reduces to  (1 + 49)/81  that is  50/81.
