-3(x-3)= -9

So we'd solve this like

 

-3(x-3)= -9   (now out here we will first multiply -3 by x and -3 )

 

-3x - 9 = - 9         (and now we will take -9 to the other side with -9 to put like terms together)

 

-3x = -9 -9          ( and now we would add the two -9's and also put the minus sign)

 

-3x = -18           (now we will take -3 to the other side and divide it by -18 which will then give us our x and also we will cut the two minus signs while dividing the two)

 

x = -18 / -3         (now simply divide)

 

x = 6      ANSWER
