Use FOIL (first, outside, inside, last):                       (and adding them together)

  First:       (4x)(4x)

  Outside:  (4x)(-10)

  Inside:    (-10)(4x)

  Last:       (-10)(-10)

(4x - 10)(4x - 10)  =  (4x)(4x) + (4x)(-10) + (-10)(4x) + (-10)(-10)

                            =  16x² - 40x -40x + 100

                            =  16x² - 80x + 100
