Converting 15 feet to inches we have 180 inches

So the scale of the drawing is 8.5 : 180 =   17 : 360

So the width is (7 + 1/4) * (360 / 17) = (29/4 * 360/17)  = (29 * 90/17) ≈  153.53 inches ≈ 12.8 ft

The ratio of width to length is the same for both, so

W/15 = 7.25/8.5  or  W = 15*7.25/8.5 ft

W=15×7.258.5W=12.7941176470588235 ft

So the width of the room is approximately 12.8 feet.
