Let  n  represent the number of pop cans.

  .10 x n  =  the amount of money that those cans are worth

If you want to earn  $30.00,  use this equation:  .10n  = 30.00

Solve by dividing both sides by  .10:                       n  =  30.00 ÷ .10

                                                                            n  =  300
