Why is -2 with an exponent of 6 in brackets negative?
-2^6=+64. If your are getting -64, then there is a mistake in your calculator.
What this sounds like is this: -(26)
In that case it would end up being -64 as shown below.

-(2*2*2*2*2*2)
-(4*4*4)
-(16*4)
-(64)
