find the amplitude, a, and the period, p, and the phase shift, h, of the function y=5cos(pi(x) +1)
Welp, I'm doing this as well
The equation used here is aCOS(pX-h)
So plug and chug
a=5
p=pi
h=-1
y=5cos(pi(x) +1)
Amplitude = l 5 l = 5
Period ..... solve this :
pi * x = 2pi
x = [ 2pi ] / pi = 2 radians
Phase shift.... solve this
.pi * x + 1 = 0
pi * x = -1
x = -1/pi ≈ -0.3183 rads
