Find the missing point for the given midpoint and known endpoint.

Midpoint = (-3, 5) and
Endpoint #1 = (0, 0)

  1. Midpoint = (1.5, -7) and
    Endpoint #1 = (4, -3)

  1. Midpoint = (-2, -3.5) and
    Endpoint #1 = (-12, 1.5)

  1. Find the value of the missing x coordinate: (x, -2) and    (9, -8) the midpoint is (13, -5)

  1. Find the value of the missing y coordinate: (3, 5) and (-4, y) the midpoint is (-0.5, 2)

Midpoint  =    {  add endpoint x^s / 2  ,  add endpoint y's / 2 }

Midpoint = (1.5, -7) and
Endpoint #1 = (4, -3)

  x  coordinate of  other endpoint

[ 4  + x ] / 2   = 1.5      mutliply by 2  on each side

4 + x  = 3                   subtract 4 from both sides

x   =  - 1

y  coordinate of  endpoint

[ -3  + y ] / 2   = -7      mutliply by 2  on each side

-3 + y  = - 14                add 3 to  both sides

y   =  - 11

Endpoint →   ( - 1, - 11 )

See if you can do the others.....

cool cool cool
