40x+13(1.5x)=833

13*1.5 = 19.5

40x+19.5x=833

59.5x=833

833/59.5 = 14, so his hourly rate is $14/hr.

13*1.5 = 19.5

40x+19.5x=833

59.5x=833

833/59.5 = 14, so his hourly rate is $14/hr.

Let the regular hourly rate=H

His overtime hourly rate=1.5H

40H + 13(1.5H) =$833.00

40H + 19.5H =$833.00

59.50H =$833.00 divide both sides by 59.50

H=$14.00 His regular hourly rate

$14.00 x 1.5 =$21.00 His overtime hourly rate.
