How do I solve. 3x/4 - x/2 = 6

3x/4 - x/2  =  6

Equations are easier to work if there are no fractions; multiply each term by 4:

4(3x/4) - 4(x/2)  =  4(6)

=  3x - 2x  =  24

=          x   =  24
