Let r be the number.

r*5/2 + 2/3 = -7/12

r*5/2 + 8/12 = -7/12

r*5/2 = -7/12 -8/12

r*5/2 = -15/12

r = -(15/12)*(2/5)

r = -3/6 = -1/2
