Log 16=4 x
You can also do this:
log(16) = 4x
(1/4)log(16) = x
But any multiplied can go inside as an exponent:
(1/4)log(16) = log(16^(1/4))
And, since 16 = 2^4: log(16^(1/4)) = log( (2^4) ^(1/4) ) = log(2)
Divide both sides by 4
x = log 16/4 = about .301
