A.  -10 > - 9      false

B.   1 > -18       true   [ a positive is always > a negative ]

C.  -25 > -30     true

D.  3 < -5      false

E.  -10 < 3       [ a negative is always < a positive ]

BTW.....the easiest way to solve these is to plot both values on a number line.......the number to the left is always smaller than the number to the right

P(being a junior)  =   [75] / [ 75 + 60  ] =   75 / 135  = 5/9

P (preferring volyball)  = [45] / [135]  = 1 / 3

P(being a junior and preferring volleyball )  =  25 / 135 = 5 / 27

So,  if independent

P( being a junior and preferring volleyball)  =  P( being a junior) x P( preferring volleyball)

5 /27     =     5/9   x   1/3     ???

5/27   = 5/27

So.....independent   [answer D]
