Triangle JKL is similar to TPD.  Find the length of side b.

To find side b, you have to find the ratio between both triangles.

 

TD/JK=9/5 or 1.8

 

A common error here is that you multiply side DP by the ratio.

 

What you actually have to do here is divide side DP by the ratio

 

DP=6, so 6/1.8

 

6/1.8= \(3.\overline3\)
