Slope is equivalent to rise over run, or the change in y / change in x between two given (distinct) points on the line. Let's look at the x and y intercepts which are 10 and -6 respectively. Over a distance of 10 units, the graph rises by 6, meaning that rise / run = 6/10 = a slope of 3/5

Find the slope of the line shown.

Hello monkeyree!

The 2-point equation helps here.

  P1(10;0)P2(0;6)

m=y2y1x2x1

m=60010

m=35

The slope of the displayed line is 35.

The function of the line shown is  y=35x6
