The heights of the kindergarten children are approximately normally ditributed with population mean 39 inches and population standard deviation 2inches. A classroom of 30 of these kinderfarten children is used as a sample. What is the probability that the class mean x bar is greater than 40 inches.

z-score  =  [x-bar  -  mean(x-bar)] / [ std dev x-bar ]

            =  [40 - 39] / [2/√30]  

            =  0.0913

Now, you will need to find the normalcdf for a z-score of this size or greater.
