A number decreased by the sum of two times a number and 12.

a. x - (2x+12)

b. x - 2x + 12

c. 2x + 12 - x

d. (x - 2x) + 12

I got  x-(2x+12). Is this correct?

Let "a number" become x.

"decreased"  means  subtract

"sum of two times a number and 12"  becomes 2x + 12

x - (2x + 12)
