If you have 3^-2, this means that you need to take the reciprocal; make it  1 / 3^2  =  1/9.

(When you take the reciprocal, turn the negative exponent into a positive exponent.)

So, 4^-3 means  1 / 4^3  =  1/64.

Etc.
