A 30° - 60° - 90° has sides that are in the ratio:  1 : √3 : 2.

The side opposite the 30° has value 1 while the hypotenuse has value 2.

Since sin = opp / hyp  the sin(30°) = 1/2 --->  sin(0.5)  =  30°.
