What is the LCM of 50 and 40?

Let's look at h7's answer

Note that 40 can be factored as 23 x 5

And 50 can be factored as 52 x 2

Now we can find the LCM by taking each different factor along with the highest factor on that power.

23 x 52

8 X 25 =

200  ........just as h7 found

40*5=200

200 is the LCM
