what is the value of x in 2 + x =4

$${\mathtt{2}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{x}} = {\mathtt{4}} \Rightarrow {\mathtt{x}} = {\mathtt{2}}$$

if i understood this question right when i set it up it should be 36

$$2+x=4\Rightarrow2+2=4 x=2$$

That is the answer.
