Whats the sign for exponent

you can use ^ before the exponet for example 3^2 is 9

Use '^'.      5^4  =  5 x 5 x 5 x 5  =  625

to write an exponent, you get your original number and write the exponent about half the size of the regular number towards the top of your original number on the right side.
