A company makes locks with 50 numbers printed. A lock is opened by dialing 3 in a certain order. However it is possible that the three numbers do not need to be different.

If you are looking for the number of possible combinations then there are 50 for the first tumbler; for each of these there are 50 for the second; for each of all of these there are 50 for the third.  Therefore in total there are 50*50*50 = 125000.
