 Decimal to inverse log?

trying to convert 0.0000001 ie 0.05/500,000 into a negative log base 10. I've gotten 1e-7 in scientific calculator but don't understand conversion. Need to change units in order to correctly read graph for assignment any help would be great! Thanks :)

Since the number is smaller than 1, you will get a negative exponent; the number will be the number of places that you mov the decimal point from where it is until immediately after 1.

0.00 00 00 1  =  10^-7

log(0.0000001)  =  -7
