express 2^5 as power of 4

2^5  =  √4^5  =  [ (4)^(1/2) ] ^ 5           The square root is the one-half power. 

If you have an exponent to an exponent, multiply the exponents:  (1/2) x 5  =  5/2

     = 4^(5/2)
