f(x)=3-2x; g(x)=-1/2(x-3) find the inverse

f^-1(x)  =  (3 = x)/2  

geno means (of course)

$$f^{-1}(x) = \frac{ 3 - x}{2 }$$

inverse of f(x) = (x-3)/(-2)

inverse of g(x) = -2x +3

The steps to find the inverse:                                  f(x)  =  3 - 2x

1) Replace f(x) with y (makes writing easier)     --->     y  =  3 - 2x

2) Exchange the variables x and y                    --->     x  =  3 - 2y

3) Solve the new equation for y:                            x - 3  =  -2y

                                                                   (x - 3)/-2  =  y

                                                                     (3 - x)/2  =  y

4) Replace y with f^-1(x):                                  f^-1(x)  =  (3 = x)/2
