Let the cost of large soda=L

The cost of the medium soda=M

L+M=1.74

L=M+0.16 solve for L, M

L=$0.95 cost of large soda

M=$0.79 cost of medium soda.

I am going to provide the steps for the solving :D

L+M=1.74L=M+0.16(M+0.16)+M=1.742M+0.16=1.74M=1.740.162=0.79L=0.79+0.16=0.95
