An equation solved for  y  so that it has the form  y  =  mx + b    is in slope-intercept form.

The value of  m  is the slope; the value of  b  is the y-intercept.

Your equation is in the right form; can you pick out the values of  m  and of  b?

The form is  y = mx + b;  you have y  =  (-1/2)x + 3.

For your problem,  m = -1/2  and  b = 3
