The figure shown represents a plot of land and is drawn using a scale in which 1 cm equals 2 miles. One square mile is 640 acres. How large is the actual plot of land, in acres?

to get the answer we must multiply the numbers by 2 and then we would add them up. once we got that we would multiply 640*70 wich would give us 44,800 acres

Since the area of a parallelogram =Base x Height

15 cm = 15 x 2 =30 miles - the Base

10 cm = 10 x 2 =20 miles - the Height

Area = 30 x 20 = 600 square miles

600 x 640 acres =384,000 acres - the area of the plot of land.

This is a Right Trapozoid/Trapezium. Only members of Morons United  think it's a parallelogram.

area of the figure = 125 cm^2

area of the actual scale = 500 mi^2

area of the figure in acres = 320,000 acres

320,000 acres is the correct answer
