how do you solve x^2+x-6

As Anonymous has noted, this is an expression not an equation.  However, notice that it factors nicely into (x+3)(x-2), so if you wanted to find the values of x that make the expression equal zero, you can see immediately that those values would be x = -3 and x = 2.

it is an expression, not an equation. if you need an answer, substitute x for any number, then solve. square x then add x-6.
