Which expression will help you find the measure of angle R?

A) sin R/3.5 cm = sin 70º/6.2 cm

B) R = arc sin 3.5/6.2 cm

C) sin R/6.2 cm = sin 70º/3.5 cm

D) (3.5 cm)(sin R) = (6.2 cm)(sin 70º)

sin R/3.5 cm = sin 70º/6.2 cm

 
 

R = arc sin 3.5/6.2 cm       It is not a right angled triangle so this is wrong.

 
 

sin R/6.2 cm = sin 70º/3.5 cm

 
 

(3.5 cm)(sin R) = (6.2 cm)(sin 70º)

 

The sine rule says that the sine of an angle over the length of its opposite side is equal to the 

sine of any other angle over the length of the side opposite.

So Put little p on the side opposite P

put little q on the side opposite Q

and little r on the side opposite R

NOW which of the obove statements is true?

It is best if you at least try to finish it yourself.      

There is actually 2 correct answers but one maybe slightly better than the other.
