I'm giving a problem to solve for x and I know how to do most 1 varible equations but I'm a little fuzzy on what to do for this type
(x+20)2=3x
Thanks so much for your help and time you spend teaching me how to understand the conept.
(x+20)2=3x
To take out that fraction multiply both sides by 2
(x+20)2∗2=3x∗2
x+20=6x
Then to cancle out the 20 subtract 20 on both sides
x+20−20=6x−20
x=6x−20
To combine terms subtract 6x on both sides
x−6x=6x−20−6x
−5x=−20
Then to single out the x on the left divide both sides by -5
−5x−5=−20−5
Simplify
x=4
Your answer for x would be 4
Hope this helps ;P
Try me XD I went through years of pinching I've learned to bear the pain XD one day I'll dare you to give your best shot. (Trust me you won't suceed you won't get a whimper or a wince XD)
BTW I like how you edit the response to say "I'm dead" XD, but you said you were okay with me calling you that you said I was premitted to use the term XD
