(√x)^6  =  √x·√x·√x·√x·√x·√x

            =  (√x·√x)·(√x·√x)·(√x·√x)

            =  (x)·(x)·(x)

            =  x^3

A faster way is to write  √x  as  x^(1/2)               (Because a square root is a number to the 1/2 power.)

Then  (√x)^6  =  ( x^(1/2) )^ 6  =  x^3             (Because, to simplify a problem that is a power to a power,

                                                                         multiply the two powers together:  1/2 x 6  =  3.)
