So we shall solve this as

13 = (4x + 2)

(now at first we will open the brackets of 4x + 2 )

13 = 4x +2 

(now we will take 2 to the other side with 13 and also change it from 2 to -2 as when we change places even signs change)

-2 + 13 = 4x

(and now we will simply subtract -2 and 13 )

11 = 4x

(now we will take 4 to the other side and then divide it by 11)

x = 11/4

x= 2.75  ANSWER

or if u cant do this then simply say " i am sorry Sir (or ma'am) i dont know the answer) , but then after this you may get some scolding as for not paying attention )
