First take out the LCM of the two denominator then
$$\frac{12}{14}+\frac{4}{6}$$
Now we shall take out the LCM that is 42
now see that how many times does 42 come in both the denominators then multiply the same number you got witht their numberator like
$$=\frac{12*3}{14*3}+\frac{4*7}{6*7}$$
now after multiplying each of them.....you can simply add the fractions with common denominators!
