now first we will take the common denominator!

=7x3/6x3  -  2x6/3x6

= 21/18 - 12/18

now simply subtract!

= 9/18 

now dividing further we get

= 1/2

voila.....wasnt that a piece of cake!??

But CLhill in the first one you write 2(10)^2 and in the second one you wrote 3(4)^1......see your answer again...you'll know what I mean! This is confusing!
