How do you find the volume of a cylinder
Multiply the area of the end times the length.
Example: A cylinder is 8 inches across and 13 inches long.
Area of the end = π r2
= 3.1416 • 42 (The radius is half the diameter.)
= 3.1416 • 16
= 50.2656
Volume = Area • Length
= 50.2656 • 13
= 653.4528 (You'll want to observe significant digits.)
= 653 (cubic inches, of course)
