1/3 = 0.333333... 1/6 = 0.16666666...
2/3 = 0.666666... 5/6 = 0.8333333...
If you get something like 0.142857142857...
you can use this procedure:
first, set the decimal to n: n = 0.142857142857...
then, figure out what you have to multiply by to move the whole group of decimals one cycle the part that's repeated) over; in this case, since the cycle consists of 6 digits, multiply by 10^6 = 1 000 000:
1 000 000n = 142857.142857...
n = 0.142857...
subtract: 999 999n = 142857
n = 142 857 / 999 999
reduce: n = 1 / 7 (This is a harder example then what you'll probably get.)
